Hi, I’d like to introduce myself…

Melanie Aslin
Permanent Makeup Sussex Specialist

Hi, my name is Melanie Aslin and I’m a fully qualified, licensed and insured Permanent Makeup Artist. I have always been passionate about beauty right back to my school days when I did prom makeup for my peers, and would regularly perform manicures and eyebrow shaping procedures, so it was no surprise that upon leaving school I would then embark on training within the Beauty Industry. I have been in the beauty industry for 17 years and throughout that time have always thrived to learn to the highest standards so I can to ensure my clients receive the best treatments they can!

I became inspired to become a permanent makeup artist after having my own permanent makeup done. My results were so transformational and my clients were so impressed that I realised I wanted to be able to make my clients feel as happy and confident as I felt.

Before embarking on my permanent makeup journey I knew I wanted to train with the best so I chose 121 training with award winning industry expert and head trainer at The Permanent Makeup Training Academy Katy Jobbins. My training covered many techniques suitable for all ages and skin tones and being the perfectionist I am I’m always striving for the best results possible for my clients.

I am absolutely passionate about my work and whatever the age range or reason for permanent makeup I work with my clients on an individual basis to find a perfect natural look that we are both happy with and all treatments are completely bespoke to suit skin tones and colouring whether blonde, grey/silver, brunette or redhead to make you feel 100% confident every day.

So if you have been considering getting permanent makeup then please give me a call and lets discuss the next step.

Here’s a little about my training and experience in the industry…

I Use Only the Highest Quality Permanent Makeup Pigments on All My Clients…

ink-colour-pallet North East Permanent Makeup by Jo East

All the colour pigments that I use have been specifically formulated through years of research and development using only the finest grades of iron oxides and lakes, the same ingredients found in make-up giants

Lancome, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Truco, Guerlain, MAC, Channel and Gucci

cosmetic products. All the pigments I use are medical grade and from the leading suppliers to the medical profession worldwide. All my pigments are hypoallergenic and are also designed for concealing imperfections on burns, scars, cancer, vitiligo, and cleft pallet patients. They have supreme colour concentration meaning less touch ups over the years.

All of my lip and eye pigments are fashioned after the top cosmetic manufacturer colours which remain true over the years. All the pigment bottles are sterile, heat sealed and tamper proof for your protection. Each one is encoded with lot numbers and expiration dates.

All pigment has a micron count of between 6 & 8 to the colour last in the skin. I carry the widest variety of natural permanent makeup colours which I custom blend for  Blondes, Brunettes & Women with Silver hair. I can also order designer colours for those wanting more dramatic colour results.

Your Consultation & Your New Look Designs

Consultation

A consultation is recommended to everyone at least 12 hours before any treatment.
It is important to attend this so I can make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the products I will be using.

It also gives me time to get to know you, find out why you would like permanent makeup, your expectations, and most importantly, see what you are looking for in terms of shape and colour so you are 100% happy and comfortable.
During the consultation you will have the chance to ask me any questions about what will happen during the treatment to make you feel more at ease for when you next come in..

(If you live far away then I can post a patch test to you to perform at home. )

Procedure

When you arrive for your treatment we will start by going through the formalities of taking all the information we need and checking medical history to ensure that the treatment is completely safe to perform, whilst we are doing this I will apply an anesthetic cream to start the area superficially numbing.

We will then move into the therapy room to start drawing your new eyebrows or lips, all drawing is done with the clients needs and wants completely in mind and with full communication, no permanent makeup is started until the client is completely happy with the drawing stage this is also the same for the pigment colours chosen, the pigment is mixed and then shown on the clients skin, the pigment is demonstrated to show the client how it will look straight away and also at its healed finish!

The shape is carefully measured using the clients facial features there isn’t a ‘one shape suits all’ so all treatments are completely bespoke ensuring that you will feel completely comfortable that your new permanent makeup will absolutely suit your face shape the same goes for the pigment choice, it is mixed bespoke for you again taking your hair colour, skin tone, eye colour into account so colour and shape is completely tailored to you the client.

Next and only when we’ve both decided on the appropriate shape and pigment shade the permanent makeup procedure will begin. Whichever area of permanent makeup you have chosen the permanent makeup is built up in layers of pigment and more anaesthetic is applied to ensure complete comfort throughout the treatment.

On completion of your permanent makeup treatment initially the pigment will look quite intense but during the healing process will soften by upto 70%, you will also be given full aftercare instructions as well as your own aftercare vitamin a&d cream to ensure safe healing in the weeks that follow your Permanent makeup procedure.

The full procedure is performed twice at 6 weeks apart to ensure the shape and colour are perfect on full completion and then top up booster appointments are recommended at 12-18 months.

Patch Test

A patch test is required 12 hours before your treatment which ideally is done at the consultation however if you have not seen me before your treatment this can be posted to you with instructions.

A patch test is always required even if you have had your brows done before elsewhere as each technician uses their preferred inks. All the pigments I use are hypo-allergenic.

The patch test is performed by simply, lightly scratching the skin before applying a small amount of anaesthetics, pigment and aftercare mixed together and lightly dotted onto the scratched area so all the products that may be used during treatment are tested! This only takes a few minutes but is very important before any Permanent Makeup procedure is performed.
